Whidbey Island Garden Tour

rose1.jpg

We went on the ferry and strolled through several gardens on the Whidbey Island Garden Tour on Saturday. While none of the gardens truly thrilled me, there is always much to learn and photograph. This rose is called Hot Cocoa.

There was also a honeysuckle vine I had never seen. Alas, it had no scent. But how beautiful it was!

Fabulous foxgloves

foxgloves.jpg Our new neighborhood has a few lovely gardens. This strip of foxgloves takes my breath away.

Seattle P-patch snaps

Snaps

They’re not in my garden, but they are beautiful. The mild winter helped snapdragons overwinter nicely this year. This P-patch community garden on Thomas Street in Seattle is such a lovely place for a late-afternoon stroll, even on a cool and cloudy day.

A portrait

Katrina drawing

I won’t be doing too many portraits, but sometimes you just have to. This is our granddaughter Katrina, drawing a picture. She is five years old.

Moved to new place

yardnextdoor.jpg

The reason for the long gap in before the last photo is that we moved from Des Moines WA to Normandy Park WA. Our new yard is big and looks even bigger as it connects up seamlessly with the properties on both sides, plus a horse pasture with two beautiful horses is directly in back. I did want to post a nice photo from my yard, but the weather did not cooperate for a good photo EXCEPT for this shot of my neighbor Dan’s yard right next to ours. I promise you’ll have ones of my actual yard in the future.
