Rhododendrons
Did you know that rhododendron means red roots? Actually, when I was digging near an old one in my garden, I noticed that the roots were bright yellow, but they did have a reddish coating on them.
These perfect rhodies are from a big garden I saw few weeks ago, and it feels like the sunshine has not been here since then, either. But I digress. I just don’t get tired of flowers, and I hope you don’t, either.
After your visit here, do stop by Shadow Shot Sunday for more creative photo penumbras, and Today’s Flowers for, well, you probably guessed it. While browsing around here, you can always get back to the latest post by clicking on Sara’s Fave Photos, above.
Exquisite flowers, lovely colors and really beautiful shadow shots! You always capture them so very well! Hope your weekend is going well and enjoy a wonderful Memorial Day!

The Rose Tree
The Greeks say δξνδĎον, the English say âtree.â
However, both tongues on one point agree:
The fabulous flower resembling a rose
Deserved a grand name, because how it grows
(Imagine it, please) is like a small tree
Arrayed with blossoms that shine like the sea.
So in the Queenâs English it came to be called
By a name that left all who said it enthralled,
A name befitting a bloom of high classâ
O flower that doth all others surpass!
And what might the name of this fair blossom be?
Rhododendron, good friendsâit means The Rose Tree.

Gorgeous photos, Sara!
Blessed week for you, dear!
I have only seen rhodies the last few years, so they are still new to me. I love the pale pink one, especially, but the shadows of the stamens in both shots is wonderful!!
Both flowers are so gorgeous!
Wonderful photos, especially with that soft blush of pink in the second.
these photos are really nice.
