Brugmansia or angel trumpet flower
This brugmansia plant in Seattle’s Volunteer Park Conservatory has flowers about the length of my hand and is quite amazingly beautiful. Its graceful curves are hard to capture in a photo. One of the very odd things about it is that occasionally a different color flower will occur on the same plant, at least on this peachy pink kind. You can see a yellow one in the background, and it is on the very same stem as the others. Brugmansia, or angel trumpet, is in the datura family and I believe is poisonous. But oh, so beautiful!

Oh Sara, these are one of my favorites. With their fairy, strong fragrance, they make you forget about the poison.
It is really hard to capture all those detail of the giant flowers, you did a great job with this amazing shot.
Oh, I just love angel trumpets. These are superb and the textured details are amazing. Very well done.
Sara, That Angel Trumpet is gorgeous! What lovely colors, is almost looks like seersucker, the way the petals ruffle. I haven’t ever seen one like that before.
Thanks for visiting my blog and for leaving a comment today.

Brugmansia are beautiful flowers! I have only seen them in a couple of places around here, so you are lucky to have them in Seattle!! I know what you mean about trying to capture them in a photo!
I’m a day late but really enjoyed that pink flower. Happy Pink Saturday.
So pretty! Great shot.
What lovely flowers they are, and what a good name, too!
Love the way you frame them. Thanks for sharing.
blessings!
Wish I would be able to see this plant in person. I need a protected area for something like that! Our wind storms would destroy those beautiful blossoms. Thanks for sharing.
