Paperwhites on Christmas
I grew these paperwhites and did the vodka-and-water technique I read about on the internet and it worked great. They did not fall over and are doing their festive thing for us. Don’t they look cool in front of our tree? Let’s call this the Best Post of the Week, too.
Happy Christmas and New Year to all!

Lovely, this is a technique I haven’t heard of.
They are so lovely!
It looks so odd to see the paperwhites and the Christmas tree in the same photo, but I am not going to complain! They are so beautiful!!
They look cool. I haven’t heard about this vodka and water technique. I want to try it too. Great shot.
I checked your link, thank goodness they put up a chart so I don’t have to do the math! Great idea.
They look great! L
Sara,

Love your picture!!
Thank you for your kind comments on my blog.

Lindas foto! fELIZ ANO NOVO!
Sara, I forced paperwhites years ago. I should have done it for this Christmas. Yours are gorgeous! Happy Holidays! 🙂
Love them! I also love that I can see your Christmas tree in the background. 🙂
what a beautiful flower… and i love the colored lights on the background!
The Christmas my mom was dying – we forced paperwhites. Oh they were so pretty! We had Hospice with mom living in my dining room – which we fashioned into a bedroom for her. I promised her I would grow paperwhites every year at Christmas in her memory.
She died in January – and the paperwhites bloomed, my do they have a very STRONG scent! I found out I was allergic to them – as they set off asthma – that I never had before.
I was not able to keep my promise to mom, although I still have several things hanging in the room from when she spent her time with us. That was 10 years ago this month.
Everytime I see paperwhites – it brings back those special memories that I cherish of our last days together.
Thanks so much!
