New entry at the Volunteer Park Conservatory
In a sunbreak a couple of days ago, I took advantage of the great spring weather to head out to one of my favorite haunts, the Volunteer Park Conservatory, one of Seattle’s true hidden gems. They have redone the entry and it is so fabulous! Now a curved space greets you and you feel surrounded by the tropical foliage and flowers. And the shadows of the Peacock Window are a bonus.
Visit Shadow Shot Sunday for more intriguing shadows seen everywhere and SOOC for more straight-out-of-the-camera shots. If you see only one photo below, click on Sara’s Fave Photos for the complete blog. Thanks!
The shadows remind me of a sundial (an instrument which I find difficult to read!).
WONDERING WHY
Said Shadow, “I do wonder why,
When there is no sun in the sky,
I must disappear;
I’d like to stay here
And never again say good-bye!”

I luuuurve the green of Seattle all year round. The plants make a really cool ShadowShot too! Happy SSS.
The iron gate leaves a wonderful shadow at the feet of the leafy flora. The portal has opened, it would seem, to invite us i and view the look of Spring. This tropical ‘jungle, is tamed and so lovely here!
indeed the shadow looks like a sundial
beautiful capture. 🙂

Such a complex collection of shadows, well caught 🙂
That looks nice and green. Still white with snow around here after a teasing of warmth and sunshine a week ago. Makes me think a trip tomour local conservatory might be a good idea until Spring really kicks in here in Wisconsin. Great shot!
peace.
Such a tropical feel. That is a great shot!
Gorgeous!
My shadows, have a great weekend!
The mix of such lovely shadowy patterns and gorgeous lush greenery is super! Funny to hear the term ‘sunbreak’ 🙂 I hope you have many more sunbreaks in the week ahead!
This is a lovely shadow capture.
Looks like a very pleasant place to visit. Great shot!
Beautiful shot with the shadows.
you are so right – the shadow is intriguing. I love this photo with all the greenery and those shadows. it’s like a secret garden, which makes it even more enticing considering the time of year. we are in a hurry for spring to arrive and a conservatory is a “next best thing” to it. enjoy your sun break! happy SSS and I hope you’re having a super weekend Sara.
great capture of these shadows! Isn’t Seattle great!? We love coming up from the Portland area to spend a weekend. Cheers!
Flowers are beautiful, but I love lush greenery like this. Nice shadows, too!
