White dutch irises
From my backyard, the other day. I already pulled up the forget-me-nots since then. They fill in so well, looking great when not much else is blooming, but then a certain point is passed, and out they go. No problem with new plants volunteering for next year, of course, perhaps even too vigorously reseeding, but when you have a big place to fill up, these do a fine job. And the dutch irises seem to be quite easy, as well, returning now for the third time and more than I planted. Gardening is so fun when it works out well.

The startling white shows up well against the lovely blue background of small flowers.
This is an unusual variety, that I really like!
very pretty! the petals look so graceful.
My mom always grew Irises; how I miss them.
Happy Blue Monday, Sara!

Very beautiful! My grandmother always had forget-me-nots. She said how could you ever forget them, they never go away once you plant them. The Iris is so pretty too. Thanks for sharing,
Kathy M.
Beautiful Iris. And I like this one because it is white. I remember my mom with this one. Happy Monday!

Beautiful, pure, and elegant. Love this shot!
That splash of yellow on white…elegant!
COLOR DILEMMA
Yellow or red—which shall it be?
Red for you and yellow for me?
Perhaps you’d rather have yellow instead—
Which leaves me, of course, with handfuls of red!
Whichever hue you decide to choose,
I’ll take the other—no one will lose!

Ahhhhhh….. You capture such beauty.
I don’t know why irises have an effect on me. Love them, whatever colour they may be. Yours look just splendid.

Lovely! I haven’t seen white irises before. Then again, I didn’t notice flowers much until I started with macrophotography — lol–
Gorgeous, I really like this variety of iris. It is much more showy than the white bearded iris that I have in my garden.
This iris is beautiful, the bright white with the pop of yellow against the blue flowers! I am glad that I followed your link from Shadow Shot Sunday, I too am linking up if you’d like to visit.

I bought irises for the first time yesterday and will plant the two big clumps today. The ones I bought (at a neighbourhood plant sale) are very short and supposedly quite drought resistant, which is why I chose them.
Yours are so lovely and fresh looking!
You made a good choice in those irises. Very pretty.
Beautiful photo and flowers! Happy Blue Monday!
Nicely captured. It makes the flower looks more beautiful..Happy Blue Monday! Pls check out my entry. Thanks
