Peruvian lily or alstroemeria
This alstromeria or peruvian lily is one vigorous plant in my garden. It does give you pause when you planted a few rooted but shabby looking, scrawny plants last year and this year the clump is about 5 feet tall and almost as wide. They are beautiful but hid my peonies and so they will need to find a new spot. I read that any good garden spends about a third of its life in a wheelbarrow, and I must say that rearranging is what it’s all about. You can’t really know in advance how something will do, can you?

Beautiful macro shot.

Lovely! Odd that the spots are only on two of the petals…
I agree!! Re-arranging takes a lot of time but at the end when you see your garden all the effort and time is worth spending. I have a new flower plot and I just planted anything and everything that my friends gave to me. Hopefully next two years they are going to bloom and thrive then I will have to plan another spot for them. But it’s fun right? They said gardening can release a lot of stress, and I said amen to that ^_^ Happy MOnday!
MYM
A fabulous photo! I remember the first time I ever saw a Peruvian Lily. It was given to me in a bouquet of flowers and I had never seen anything like it. It was the first time I really started noticing flowers, although I had always loved the roses and geraniums in my Dad’s garden, along with his sweet peas. When I got married and moved to America, I started seeing all these exotic looking blooms and my true interest began, and that Peruvian Lily started it all. Have a great day Sara.
gorgeous!!! what a lovely color!
