Opuntia cactus
So much fun at the Botanical Garden (El Charco del Ingenio Jardin Botanico) in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Here is a close up of a nopal cactus. Spiky!

That cactus is determined to protect its new growth!
Great focus, it looks so pointy and sharp
Thank you for linking up to #MySundayPhoto
I like the muted colours in this, as well as the focus and angle. #MySundayPhoto
Such a odd plant close up, you wouldn’t want to poke it too hard!
Ouch! Looks like this cactus could do some damage to the unwary!

Very spiky, but beautiful! Thank you and have a wonderful day!
My sister gave me a cactus few years back and was beautiful when bloomed. However, very hard to week around so I eventually took it out of my flower garden. I may have her give me another and plant it separate because the blooms are so pretty. Thanks for sharing.

If I have ever seen the opuntia cactus before, I wasn’t aware of its name. Scary-looking spines surrounding that fruit.

Awesome macro!
I love visiting the desert this time of year. – Margy
Great close up shot! Our Opuntia get regularly eaten up by rabbits. It amazes me that they can eat such a spiny plant.
