Chicks for sale

Was in a new-to-me Wilco/True Value store in Bremerton, WA. I enjoyed the shopping experience very much, plus they had baby chicks. #iamsofluffy

Pink lavender

This lavender is a very pale pink. Same exact smell! See the bee working it? They love lavender of all kinds.

Great blue heron

While at the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks in Seattle the other day, we saw a great blue heron from pretty close by, looking for lunch. A tough job.

Geese in a park

Got to visit the Carl S. English Jr. Botanical Garden near the Ballard Locks in Seattle the other day. So lovely. Here are some large geese feeding on a lawn.

Puppy at street fair

This German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix puppy was a show stopper at the U-District Street Fair in Seattle today. Winter is just nine weeks old and will be about 110 lbs. when fully grown. This photo does not really show how utterly fluffy he is, but it does show the joy he brought to crowds and crowds of people in the few minutes I watched.

Duck in creek

This mallard duck hen was looking fine at Country Village, in Bothell, WA. See post below this for a video of a few other members of her family.

Peacock head and feathers

From that Florida Flamingo Gardens trip, back a couple of years ago. Who doesn’t like peacocks?

Crocodile…really alligator

No words needed. But a Florida resident tells me it’s a gator, not a croc. Crocs don’t get this big.

Orange flamingos

I know flamingos are supposed to be pink, but the ones I saw in Florida a couple of years ago seemed maybe more orange. Posting just for fun on this gray Seattle day.

Three birds

A few weeks ago when the skies were so smoky from Canadian wildfires, there were some beautiful moments.
