One way to take a break after a long car trip is to lie flat on your back on the carpet in the sunshine, like a cat. Naturally, the shadows really sing to me in this one. And the toenails. I’m calling it my Best Post of the Week.

Dusty is one of those kitties who loves everyone. Doesn’t matter if you love cats or not, smell of dogs or not, feed her or not, she is your friend. “Pet me!” she says. In our last house we had a deck with weathered wood, and I swear sometimes it was hard to see her when she lounged on it. She’s still a bit camouflaged here on our patio but makes herself known quite well.

My daughter bought a new camera and took this photo of herself in the mirror. I love the way the fabric in the background seems to make a halo around her.

Today is my dear sister-in-law Shree’s birthday. We were together in the fabulous Steinhardt Garden in Mt. Kiscoe recently, and what a photo op she provided with her slicker and umbrella. A Ruby Tuesday post just for you, and many happy returns!
