Dancing dinosaur at Zombie Fest NW

Oh, my goodness this was a fun afternoon in Normandy Park WA yesterday at Zombie Fest NW 2018. A dinosaur showed up and started to dance to the great Aqua Nets music.

The crowd went wild!

Everyone loves this dinosaur

Aztec dancers

Got back recently from a trip to San Miguel de Allende in Mexico. My sister had a big party. There were dancers! Have you ever seen costumes anything like this?

Here is a short clip of them in action

Enjoy!

Water and birdsong

This beautiful short video clip was taken at the North Fork of the Skokomish River in Washington. Note: Locals call it “the Skoke.” Turn up your sound so you can hear the bird chirping.

And here’s a still photo of water rushing nearby

Des Moines creek

South of Seattle WA is a little city on Puget Sound called Des Moines. The locals pronounce the final S, not like the one in Iowa. They have a nice little creek that runs into the Sound and makes a wonderful rushing noise as it burbles over the smooth rocks in its bed.

I’m going to try to link this post to Water World Wednesday, Weekend Reflections. Have a great day!

Surfers at Sunset Cove

The best part of our little getaway to Seaside, Oregon was watching the surfers right from our cottage on Sunset Cove. It was amazing. I realized that surfing is much, much harder than I thought, for one thing. Here’s a little video of this oh-so-scenic cove.

Bowman Bay in Deception Pass, WA

We went camping. A short trip filled with fabulous weather, pouring rain, and absolutely gorgeous scenic views. Deception Pass State Park may be a bit noisy with the jets from a naval base thundering overhead, but it was so very lovely, I forgave the noise. That said, I did wait quite a while for the silence I wanted as a background for this very short video of the waves lapping the shore at Bowman Bay. We camped only a few hundred feet from this shore. Lucky us!

Participating in  Scenic Sunday and Outdoor Wednesday. Thanks for visiting!

Ferny fountain

Here’s a video with a few seconds of water gently splashing into the fountain surrounded by ferns at the Volunteer Park Conservatory.

Sol Duc River & Madison Falls

I’m going to try to embed the link to the youtube video here.

It worked! But here’s another photo for you for Watery Wednesday and Outdoor Wednesday and Scenic Sunday. It’s of Madison Falls right off the Elwha river, same Olympic National Park and pretty close to the Sol Duc. The waterfall is about 40 or 50 feet high, but the great thing is it’s only a five-minute stroll from the parking lot. So cute, and you can get there in a wheelchair if you want to (if someone will push you up a mild grade). I was disabled at one time and there were so many things I couldn’t do, so I really appreciate a scenic delight that is accessible to people who cannot walk well.
