Sara's Fave Photos Blog

Check out my new book, Flowers of Volunteer Park Conservatory. And welcome to Sara's Fave Photos Blog at Love That Image. My goal is to take a photo that is as compelling and beautiful as in real life, with no or minimal Photoshop work. You may copy a photo but link to lovethatimage.com. The fountain

A wonderful display garden at NW Flower & Garden Show in Seattle (#NWFGS) had a beautiful fountain inside an arched courtyard. The gentleman there told me it’s “la fuente” in Spanish. He said that in old Spanish, la fuente also means “the source.”

Green bouquet

The floral displays at the NWFGS might be my favorite part of the show—especially since they are in the lobby, with lots of natural light. Here’s a lovely bouquet, so subtle and Seattle in its use of green elements.

Tropical flowers macro

I know the left one is an orchid, and I think the other one is a kind of protea, but not sure. Anyone? At Seattle’s Northwest Flower & Garden show, on now. #NWFGS

Conservatory selfie

Went to a great event at Seattle’s Volunteer Park Conservatory on Valentine’s Day. What a fine place for some wine, jazz and a selfie!

Tulips emerging

There was a sunbreak recently (a very Seattle thing) and I went outside to work in the garden. The bulbs are starting! Behind the tulip sprouts are bluebells starting up.

Ribbon crowns

Not sure the real name of these headpieces for little girls playing dress up, but I know if I was five I sure would want one! Later: They are called Fairy Crowns.
