Check out my new book, Flowers of Volunteer Park Conservatory. And welcome to Sara's Fave Photos Blog at Love That Image. My goal is to take a photo that is as compelling and beautiful as in real life, with no or minimal Photoshop work. You may copy a photo but link to lovethatimage.com. Conservatory selfie

Went to a great event at Seattle’s Volunteer Park Conservatory on Valentine’s Day. What a fine place for some wine, jazz and a selfie!

Tulips emerging

There was a sunbreak recently (a very Seattle thing) and I went outside to work in the garden. The bulbs are starting! Behind the tulip sprouts are bluebells starting up.

Ribbon crowns

Not sure the real name of these headpieces for little girls playing dress up, but I know if I was five I sure would want one! Later: They are called Fairy Crowns.

Tumbling Tauruses

At the Seattle Art Museum recently I stopped to take a photo of a favorite exhibit: “Inopportune: Stage One,” also known as Tumbling Tauruses. I always like viewing this explosive-looking sculpture from the side, for some reason. Now I read it’s coming down soon. Go see them before they are gone!

Amaryllis stamens

I think the white part is the anther. See the post a couple down from here to view this flower.

Amaryllis indoors

I’ve had good luck with getting some red amaryllis to rebloom. I treat them like houseplants and give them summers outside on the sunny patio. The geraniums behind it do well that way, too.
