Rose and orchid bouquet at NWFGS

I am still enjoying my photos from this spring’s Northwest Flower & Garden Show in Seattle. This stunner was on a tall glass pedestal.

Seahurst sunset

Oh my goodness it was lovely the other evening. A quick visit to Seahurst Park in Burien, WA showed a perfect scene.

NWFGS bouquet

The Northwest Flower & Garden Show just ended in Seattle WA is a fabulous for the bouquets as well as the garden displays. This darling one has a plant, maybe a succulent, that I have never seen. Anyone know what that big flat green thing is?

Flower arrangement structure

Not sure what to call this blue-ribbon winning piece of floral art I saw yesterday at Seattle’s NW Flower & Garden Show (#nwfgs). Not a bouquet, not really an arrangement, more like a sculpture, it towered over onlookers. The complete, enormous arrangement:

Purple prickly pear

At the Desert Garden in Phoenix, AZ, a new succulent to me, a purple opuntia or prickly pear.

Prickly pear cactus in Arizona, in tones of lavender or purple. See the heart-shaped paddles?
